MANILA, Philippines – Evil Power Rangers – what?In the short film entitled Power Rangers uploaded by Adi Shankar, former Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek is seen with Katee Sackhoff, best known for appearing in Battlestar Galactica. The clip shows James’ character in a robot leg and interrogating Katee, who plays a former Pink Ranger. Katee makes reference to James’ character as a traitor. But Katee's character is more than what she appears – you just have watch the whole film to find out.In an interview with HitFlix, director Joseph Kahn said: "The irony here is that I wouldn't even want to make Power Rangers: The Movie for real. Like if I had to make a Power Rangers movie, this is it. It's 14 minutes long and it's violent and this is what I have in me. If they offered me the 200 million version, the PG-13 version, I literally wouldn't do it. It's just not interesting to me." In the interview below, Adi Shankar also discussed the reason behind doing the film:"When I was a child I had two favorite TV shows: the X-Men animated series and Power Rangers. I eventually came to the realization that high school kids weaponized to fight an intergalactic threat would turn those kids into some seriously disturbed adults,"he said.Watch the interview below.
